ผลการสำรวจดัชนีความเชื่อมั่นภาคอุตสาหกรรมในเดือนธันวาคม 2566 อยู่ที่ระดับ 88.8 ปรับตัวลดลง จาก 90.9 ในเดือนพฤศจิกายน ปรับตัวลดลง จากปัจจัยเสี่ยงของภาคการผลิตชะลอลง ตามวันทำงานน้อยและวันหยุดต่อเนื่องในเทศกาลปีใหม่ ประกอบกับผู้ผลิตได้เร่งการผลิตในช่วงก่อนหน้า ขณะที่กำลังซื้อของผู้บริโภคยังฟื้นตัวไม่เต็มที่จากปัญหาหนี้ครัวที่ยังทรงตัวในระดับสูง ขณะเดียวกันยังมีปัญหาการแข่งขันด้านราคาที่รุนแรง สำหรับภาคการก่อสร้างชะลอตัวลงโดยเฉพาะโครงการก่อสร้างของภาครัฐ ส่งผลให้ความต้องการใช้สินค้าวัดุก่อสร้างลดลง ด้านการส่งออกประสบปัญหาอัตราค่าระวางเรือที่ปรับตัวสูงขึ้น จากกรณีกลุ่มฮูตีในเยเมนโจมตีเรือขนส่งสินค้าพาณิชย์ที่แล่นผ่านทะเลแดง ส่งผลกระทบต่อการขนส่งสินค้าโดยเฉพาะระหว่างทวีปเอเชียและยุโรป
อย่างไรก็ตาม ยังมีปัจจัยบวกจากความต้องการสินค้าสินค้าอุปโภคบริโภคและสินค้าแฟชั่น ที่เพิ่มขึ้นในช่วงเทศกาลปีใหม่ และอานิสงส์การขยายตัวของภาคการท่องเที่ยว ขณะที่ภาคการส่งออกมีทิศทางดีขึ้นต่อเนื่องจากอุปสงค์จากประเทศคู่ค้าทยอยฟื้นตัว นอกจากนี้ มาตรการอุดหนุนราคาพลังงานของภาครัฐ โดยการปรับลดราคาน้ำมันและค่าไฟฟ้า ช่วยลดต้นทุนให้กับผู้ประกอบการ

The results of the Thai Industries Sentiment Index (TISI) survey for December 2023 stand at 88.8, a decrease from 90.9 in November. This decline is attributed to risks associated with a slowdown in the manufacturing sector, affected by fewer working days and continuous holidays during the New Year festival. Additionally, producers had ramped up production in the prior period, while consumer purchasing power has not fully recovered due to persistent high household debt levels. There are also ongoing issues with intense price competition. The construction sector has slowed down, particularly public construction projects, leading to reduced demand for construction materials. Meanwhile, exports are facing higher shipping costs due to Houthi group attacks in Yemen on commercial vessels passing through the Red Sea, impacting shipping logistics, particularly between Asia and Europe.
However, there are positive factors from increased demand for consumer products and fashion items during the New Year festival, along with benefits from the growth of the tourism sector. The export sector is also showing continuous improvement as demand from trading partners gradually rebounds. Furthermore, government measures to subsidize energy prices by reducing fuel and electricity costs help lower expenses for enterprises.
